It is believed that men and animals are the creation of Supreme God called Shakewa or Rang Pra. Thus, human beings are the creation of Shakewa or Rang Pra. Though, there is no written record concerning the origin of the Ronrangs (Rëra) but it has been transmitted from the folklore of the forefathers that Rëras were originated from the ‘Hohkåchong’ (one kind of wild tree) of the ‘Machoisinra pum’ which is name of Hill, now in Myanmar.
The original nomenclature Rëra was mistakenly written as Ronrang by the early researchers and teachers apparently owing to wrong spell or pronunciation since our people were illiterate and uneducated in those days they were dependant on other in writing and reading. Besides, researchers and teachers were from outsides and were unfamiliar with the dialect and pronunciation of our people leading to misspelling of the nomenclature.
